This past weekend the folks (primarily Chrystal Wilson and jNetrix Systems) at my office space “The Boat House” in Kingston, Ontario organized a weekend of fun with Raspberry Pi’s. The idea was to hack something together over a single weekend using a Raspberry Pi. On behalf of Empire Avenue I donated a few small prizes as did the other businesses in the office space as well as businesses around town.
Highlights included doorbell system created by a team of very young hackers and the arcade game console to play a game of Centipede (one of my favourite games). I’ve posted some of the photos here. The most impressive feat was how quickly teams collaborated together to create such amazing products and learn so much. Many people had never even turned on a linux-based system before, even fewer had hacked with a Raspberry Pi.
Truly fantastic and so proud to be even a tiny tiny part of it!
